River Union Stage Offers a Dramatic Reading of “A Christmas Carol” to Benefit Local Food Pantries

River Union Stage is presenting “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens at the Prallsville Mills in Stockton, NJ on Friday, December 18 at 8:00 PM and Saturday, December 19 at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to benefit local food pantries.  Admission is free with a donation of food, cash, or check for food pantries in Frenchtown, Lambertville, and Ottsville.

The performances will be presented in reader’s theatre style and will feature Todd Lewis returning to the RUS stage and RUS founders Laura Swanson and Keith Strunk and is under the direction of Carl Walnau, Artistic Director of Centenary Stage.  The rustic warmth of the Prallsville gristmill provides the perfect setting for a dramatic reading of this holiday classic.

Food and cash donations will be divided among the three food pantries.  Checks made out to a specific food pantry will also be accepted. Click HERE or call (908) 996-3685 for a list of needed items and more information about each food pantry.  River Union Stage is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt professional Equity theatre serving the communities of the Delaware River Valley.

Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Hunterdon County Board of Chose Freeholders, through funds administered by the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission.
